Comics in Francophone Africa," the first exhibition of African Manga in Japan
The exhibition introduces the manga culture of French-speaking African countries from the perspectives of history and artwork, artists, fan culture, and publishing formats, through reproductions of original manga works by more than 15 African artists, books, magazines, and fan events.
The Kyoto International Manga Museum is pleased to present Japan's first exhibition of African manga, as follows. This exhibition will focus on the characteristics and appeal of African manga, which have been unknown in Japan, with a particular emphasis on French-speaking African countries. The exhibition will also include events featuring African cartoonists and workshops that will introduce visitors to African culture, so please take this opportunity to enjoy the exhibition.
